January 20, 2015

Hey Everybody!! hows things going?? good i hope! sent some pictures of some service we did this week! our whole zone, wich is like 20 missionaries, went to this health center and basically just cleaned it up! took a whole bunch of weeds and burned them, took all the garbage and burned it, and built a new roof! it was actually pretty fun, and i definitely enjoyed having some time to just work with my hands! slightly better than preaching the gospel everyday, but they are both good!
I also finished training this past week! whoot whoot! for the first 12 weeks in the field every missionary is in training, which means you do an extra hour of studies in the morning to learn about missionary things and what not, but now im just a regular old missionary! moving right along in the work of the lord!
we also did divisions with the zone leaders this past week, which was interesting and fun! i went to an area called prados de villa hermosa, and it basically killed me! okay not really, but its a lot of up and down and up and down, and we ran every hill and i was just a sweating like crazy, but it was way fun so thats all that counts right?! we are pretty much just crazy missionaries. we run everywhere we can, and we preach to all that we can, and we leave the rest up to God!
okay, i will go ahead and share a miracle that we saw yesterday. so we eat at this comedor everyday, and this older lady owns it, and shes so cool and so nice. we had talked to her before about recieving the lessons and attending church, but she would never give a straight answer. a couple weeks ago she asked us when church was and we told her and she said she was going to come that week! shes came for three weeks now, and we have been teaching her the lessons and what not, and we committed her to be baptized on the 25th of this month. she had been baptized in an evangelic church, and didnt feel the need or didnt see the importance of being baptized again. well yesterday we had a lesson with her and before we even started teaching, she told us what had happend the night before. she said she went to read before she went to sleep, and before she started she got down on her knees and just asked if she needed to be baptized again in this church. afterwards she had the feeling to read this book, which happens to be a book of the teachings of the presidents of the church. how in the world she has this book i will never know, but she just opened it up and started reading. it was talking about a story in the bible where jesus is explaining the importance of baptism by water and by the holy ghost, and she said she just felt good while reading it, and she said she thinks that it was God providing her with an answer. coincidence? i think not. we asked her to be baptized on sunday, and she agreed!! so hopefullly next week i will have more to report on, but thats all for now! have a great week and i love you all!
